Support Specialist

Position Number: 3072

Provides quality care, training, support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based or center-based program. Hours of the program may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings.  Monitors and maintains the safety and wellness of individuals. Provides a wide array of activities and experiences that will enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Provides recreation and socialization to individuals in a variety of community settings. Provides transportation for community activities. Maintains individual records and documentation according to all applicable standards.


Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical requirements to include the ability to push and manipulate wheelchair; assist with wheelchair transfers; provide physical assistance to individuals; squat, bend, stoop, and climb stairs; and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Valid drivers’ license and safe driving record.

Preferred Requirements
  Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  Experience working specifically with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.


$24,185 to $38,090.  Excellent fringe benefits.
