Emergency Services Clinician


Position Number: 4024




Provides face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, diagnostic evaluation, and assessment of need for treatment, pre-admission screening for private and state psychiatric hospitalizations; provides behavioral health consultations; referrals to DPCS programs or other community bases services; adheres to guidelines or regulations established by Virginia Statute and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.



Minimum Requirements 

M1:  Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Services that includes coursework for eventual licensure by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner in Virginia;

M2:  Outpatient or inpatient clinical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience required.

M3:  Documented crisis intervention experience within the past five years required. 

Preferred Requirements

P1:  License preferred 

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.



$39,829 - $62,734 10% Increase for Licensure  $5000 Sign on Bonus

Differential Pay:  Additional $2.00 per hour for 2nd shift, Additional $3.00 per hour for 3rd shift
