Emergency Services Clinician -- Contract

 

Position Number: 4034

 

Responsibilities:
Provides coverage on an as needed basis for the following shifts: day shift (8:30 am to 5:00 pm), evening shift (4:00 pm to 12 midnight), night shift (12 midnight to 8:30 am), weekends (12 hour shifts) and holidays.  Responsibilities include providing face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations and assessments of need for treatment, pre-admission screenings for private and state psychiatric hospitalization, behavioral health consultation, and referrals to other programs or community based services.



Requirements
:

Minimum Requirements
 
M1:
  Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Services that includes coursework for eventual licensure by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as Licensed Psychologist, Licenses Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner in Virginia, OR
Current agency employees with a Bachelor’s degree and previously “grandfathered” by the Executive Director as certified as a preadmission screening evaluator are exempt from the Master’s degree requirement.

M2:
  Outpatient or inpatient clinical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience.
M3:
  Documented crisis intervention experience within the past five years.

Preferred Requirements
P1:
  Current DBHDS certification as a Preadmission Screener preferred.
P2: 
License preferred.

Residence Requirement

Must be located within a 30 mile radius of Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, 245 Hairston Street, Danville, VA during the time the services are being provided.

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
