BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION
Clinician -- Contract
Position Number: 4034
Provides coverage on an as
needed basis for the following shifts: day shift (8:30 am to 5:00 pm), evening
shift (4:00 pm to 12 midnight), night shift (12 midnight to 8:30 am), weekends
(12 hour shifts) and holidays.
Responsibilities include providing
face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations and
assessments of need for treatment, pre-admission screenings for private and
state psychiatric hospitalization, behavioral health consultation, and referrals
to other programs or community based services.
Master’s degree in Psychology,
Counseling, Social Work, or Human Services that includes coursework
for eventual licensure by the Virginia Department of Health
Professions as Licensed Psychologist, Licenses Professional
Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist, or Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner in Virginia,
Current agency employees or previous
employees with no more than six months break in service, in order to
meet administrative requirements, with a Bachelor’s degree and
previously “grandfathered” by the Executive Director as a certified
preadmission screening evaluator and remains current, are exempt
from the Master’s degree requirement.
Outpatient or inpatient clinical
mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience.
Documented crisis intervention
experience within the past five years.
Current DBHDS certification as a Preadmission Screener preferred.
Must be located within a 30 mile radius
of Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, 245 Hairston Street,
Danville, VA during the time the services are being provided.
State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central
registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
