BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION

Position Number: 4220
Consults with psychiatrists
and clinical staff to determine the medication needs of individuals receiving
Evaluates individuals to determine current mental
status and need for medication, in order to prescribe appropriate medications in
consult with Agency Psychiatrists.
Counsels individuals and/or family members
concerning appropriate use, anticipated effects and side effects of psychotropic
medications. Monitors side effects of medications and reports findings to
Maintains documentation in medical records.
Other duties as assigned by the Medical
Masters Degree in Nursing from an
accredited School of Nursing required.
Licensed or licensed within six months of start date in the State of
Virginia to practice medicine required.
Additional certification as a
psychiatric nurse required.
At least one year of experience in
a behavioral health setting preferred.
State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central
registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
$68,796 - $108,357.
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus.
Employees who are U.S. Citizens are
eligible for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment
Salary, bonus, and benefits
pro-rated for part-time status.
