Director of Child and Family Services

Responsible for the
development and supervision of treatment programs and appropriate services for
children and adolescents seeking services on an outpatient basis; maintains an
ongoing knowledge base for system planning and evaluation of clinical services;
is responsible for consultation and supportive services to individuals and
staff; enhances and maintains professional relations with the Department of
Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) and other groups and
agencies which assist and advocate for the child and adolescent population
served in the Children’s Clinical Services Unit and the Children’s Support
Services Unit; provides supervision to the Coordinator of Children’s Clinical
Services and Children’s Support Services; coordinates the programs’ quality
assurance standards as prescribed by licensure, Human Rights, Medicaid, managed
care groups or other third party payers with regards to clinical services and
medical record keeping, as well as in accordance with Behavioral Health Services
Division requirements; serves as a member of the Division’s management team;
compiles and analyzes statistical data regarding program services and responds
to surveys, questionnaires, and studies summarizing reports to the Director of
Behavioral Health Services.
Master’s degree in one of the human
services professions (e.g. psychology, social work, counseling).
At least six years’
experience working with individuals in a therapeutic setting.
Virginia Licensure as a Licensed
Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed
Substance Abuse Treatment Provider, or Clinical Psychologist
required within six months of hire.
At least two years’ supervisory
Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
(CSAC), Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), Masters Addiction
Counselor (MAC), and/or any out of state equivalent.
in a not-for-profit behavioral health (mental health or substance
abuse) outpatient agency.
State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central
registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
$49,849 - $78,513.
10% increase for licensure.
