Restoration Services

Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services provides restorative services to the 22nd District Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court in the city of Danville and Pittsylvania County.  If the court has reason to believe that the juvenile is incompetent to stand trial but restorable to competency in the foreseeable future, it shall order restoration services for up to three months.   If at the end of three months from the date restoration is ordered, the juvenile remains incompetent in the opinion of the agent providing restoration, the agent shall so notify the court and make recommendations concerning disposition of the juvenile.  The court shall hold a hearing according to the procedures specified in subsection F
§16.1-356, if it finds the juvenile un-restorable. Restoration Services are currently provided by a QMHP-C, housed at our local Detention Center, with clinical oversight provided by a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Pittsylvania County Community Action Inc., Head Start Program

Professional Mental Health Assessments and recommendations are provided by a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to the children enrolled in the Pittsylvania County Community Action Inc., Head Start Program. These children range in age from 3-5 years old, and are served at Joseph Galloway Head Start Center in Chatham, Bethel Baptist Church in Danville, and Shiloh Head Start Center located at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cascade Virginia.

Independent Assessment Certification and Coordination Team (IACCT)

Each child seeking admission to residential services will receive the support of the local Independent Assessment, Certification and Coordination Team (IACCT), to assess the child’s need for possible residential placement or community based services. The IACCT will include the child, the child’s family/legal guardian and a DPCS clinical professional. Whenever possible, a primary care physician or psychiatrist who knows the child’s history will be involved in the assessment. A Magellan Intensive Care Manager (ICM) will assist with care coordination for the IACCT. A Magellan Family Support Coordinator (FSC) with lived experience as the parent of a child receiving behavioral health services will connect with the family throughout the course of treatment to offer continuity of care. After the IACCT completes the assessment, the team will develop an appropriate plan of care to meet the individualized needs of the child and family. Plans may include residential or community-based services followed by a referral to the Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT).

To Make a Referral for residential services, please visit Magellan and complete the IACCT referral form, then report in person to DPCS for an evaluation at 245 Hairston Street, Danville VA  24540.

mobile Crisis services

When you or a loved one experiences a behavioral health crisis, you and your caregivers may not know what to do, or who is available to help.  It is important to help de-escalate a crisis situation and connect individuals to necessary services and support.  Mobile Crisis Services (MCS) are provided in the home or any setting where a crisis may occur.  The Mobile Crisis Team provides triage, assessment and referral, and short-term crisis counseling to individuals to resolve behavioral health crisis situations while striving to prevent hospital admissions.  The team provides strategies to individuals to prevent future crises that may arise and coordinates supports for ongoing services.
